Wedding photography by Rebecca Hansen Weddings

What is your philosophy/approach to wedding photography?

My goal is to make honest, authentic, and creative photographs. Weddings are a combination of photojournalism and set-up portraiture, and I am constantly trying to maintain a balance between the two. Most people aren’t completely themselves in front of a camera, so I set up an environment that allows you to be yourselves. I wait until it feels natural before I start shooting.

Are you a husband/wife photography team?

We shot weddings full-time together for 5 years, but now that we have 3 kids that can't be left alone every weekend, I (Chad) have become the primary photogrpaher. I shoot most of the weddings myself, but If you are having a large wedding, or would simply prefer to have 2 photographers, I know some awesome photographers that I love shooting with.

Are you exclusively a wedding photographer?

I love weddings and couples, so almost all of my time & energy is devoted to that. I do take a limited number of other commissions, so CONTACT me and we can discuss it.

What are your packages/prices?

Wedding packages start at $4,800 and include full wedding day coverage, a download of 600-800 high-resolution digital images, and an online gallery with shopping cart for family and friends.

If you are having a more unconvential wedding, like an elopement or a small weekday wedding, I am happy to put together a custom quote. CONTACT me for more detailed information.

Engagements and portrait sessions are $500 and include a download of 75-100 high-resolution images.

Custom wedding albums, print boxes, prints, rehearsal dinner coverage, and second photographer coverage is also available.

How many images will I receive in my download?

A lot. I usually deliver 600-800 individually edited images per wedding.

Do you offer a photobooth?

I SURE DO! I love the photobooth, and so will your guests. I bring the photobooth and a white seamless backdrop (or BYO custom designed backdrop), you provide the props so they fit with your personalities and the aesthetic of your event, and go crazy.

The photobooth is triggered from a touch screen, where it counts down from 3, takes the photo, and displays it back for 2 seconds before resetting back to start. Repeat this process over and over and over again The photos are available to your guests as a FREE digital download within 48 hours of the wedding. More information can be found HERE.

Are you available for travel?

Yes Yes Yes. I love to travel! I am located in Salt Lake City, Utah, but am available for travel nationally and internationally. I would figure a cost for travel and give you a quote up front.

What is the process for booking a date with you?

Booking a date is on a first-come, first-served basis. First, CONTACT me for availability. I require a signed contract and a $1000 non-refundable deposit to book your date. The remaining balance is then due 14 days prior to your wedding date.

Do you have insurance?

Absolutely. I carry 1 million dollars in liability coverage. If your venue requires proof, I can provide a certificate.

Do you shoot film or digital?

I shoot almost all of my work digitally, using Canon professional cameras and lenses. From time to time I mix in a little film for personal work, but my focus is digital first.

What equipment do you use?

Canon 5d mk iii
Canon 50mm f/1.2L
Canon 35mm f/1.4L
Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART
Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro
iMac, iPad, iPhone
Adobe CS5 Design Premium and Adobe Lightroom 6

Do you have work published?

We've had projects and images featured in both print and online. You can see some of those features, as well as some raves from past couples on the PRAISE PAGE.

How can I get more information?

First, visit the CONTACT page. Tell me about yourselves and what you are looking for. If I live within a reasonable distance, I'd love to get together, get to know each other a bit better, and to discuss things further. If not, we will set up something over skype, facetime or by phone. I look forward to it!
